Gene testing for PLL

Foxy was giving some saliva samples yesterday to be sent to Britain for PLL gene results. We will find out if she is a carrier, affected or clear of primary lens luxation. Lisa's genes were given too. I don't know yet how long will it take for the results to come, some weeks, I should say.

Info about the PLL test can be found here: http://www.aht.org.uk/genetics_pll.html
and some facts about the heredity here: http://www.aht.org.uk/genetics_pllfaq.html

We hope the results will show two clear dogs. Both carriers and affected can develope PLL at some point of their lives, though the risk for a carrier is low, for an affected almost certain.

Gene testing anyway, has only just started, so the more dogs will be tested, the more will be found out about the gene and it's heredity. At the moment, nothing seems to be sure.
